Welcome to Canada's premier RV Emergency Road Service program! Designed to handle the "special" requirements and needs of RVers, this service provides the comfort of experienced and timely RV assistance throughout North America. Our Customers think it's the BEST and we're proud to say we agree!
The Program
Your Explorer Emergency Road Service protects you wherever you may travel in Canada and the United States when travelling in vehicles covered under this roadside assistance program.
Your club head office is located at P.O. Box 800, 328 Mill Street, Unit 6, Beaverton, Ontario L0K 1A0. Any inquires should be addressed to us at this address. Always include your membership number in any correspondence.
Coverage
Your Explorer Emergency Road Service (ERS) benefits cover the primary member, an associate member (a spouse residing in the primary member's household, or in the absence of a spouse, the primary member may designate an adult household resident as the associate member) and the primary member's dependent children (under the age of 21 and living in the same household) while driving, riding or travelling in the vehicles covered and registered under the membership. No benefits are provided in connection with driving or riding in any other vehicle. Your program includes coverage for any two non-commercial passenger vehicles (including motorhomes, cars, pickup trucks, vans and motorcycles) plus a trailer. Coverage is available for additional member-owned vehicles for a nominal fee.
Benefits do not apply for commercial or emergency vehicles. Note: There is a 72 hr. waiting period prior to membership activation.
Coverage Term
Your ERS coverage begins upon activation and remains in effect until the last day of the 12th consecutive month. Your coverage expiration date (month and year) appears on your ERS card. To ensure uninterrupted ERS coverage a renewal notice will be sent prior to expiration.
ERS coverage is subject to cancellation by either party at any time, upon written notification. The cancellation of the ERS coverage includes the primary member and all individuals eligible for benefits under the plan. All benefits will cease when the ERS coverage expires or either party cancels. Should either party cancel, you will receive a prorated refund for the unused portion of your membership term.
Emergency Road Service Identification Card
Included with your Emergency Roadside Service Benefit Guide are your Explorer ERS identification cards. Please keep them in a safe place as they contain your User ID Number and the toll-free telephone number you must call to request emergency roadside assistance. Explorer RV Club issues one identification card for the primary member and one identification card for the associate member. The cards will bear a User ID number, which must be provided when calling for assistance. New cards are issued annually upon renewal of your ERS coverage.
Emergency Road Service and Towing
Your Explorer Emergency Road Service provides nationwide dispatching 24 hours a day, 365 days a year anywhere in Canada and the United States. To obtain emergency roadside assistance, you must call the toll-free number on your ERS membership card. A pre-qualified road service professional will be promptly dispatched to your breakdown location to provide sign and drive towing to the nearest qualified service facility, flat tire change with your inflated spare, jump start, vehicle fluid delivery or lock-out service. Member is responsible for the cost of any vehicle fluids and the cost of key cutting or key replacement for any lock-out service provided. The vehicle will be towed to the nearest gas station if vehicle fluid delivery is unavailable. Towing may be necessary if the vehicle is diesel fueled.
If mechanical repairs cannot be offered at the breakdown location, we will instruct the service provider to tow your vehicle to the nearest qualified service facility.
This benefit does not cover a second tow for the same disabling incident, unless that second tow involves returning to the scene of the disablement to secure a trailer or 5th wheel which was in tow.
When calling for roadside assistance, the operator will ask for your User ID Number, name, the exact location of your disabled vehicle, the nature of the disablement and a description of the vehicle. Please have this information readily accessible when calling.
This benefit excludes road service or towing of any vehicle:
- already at a qualified repair facility;
- in an "off road" location (defined as any area not near a highway, freeway, expressway, or adjacent shoulder, hard-packed or graded public dirt road, driveway, parking lot or paved street);
- that is unattended, unlicensed, impounded or abandoned.
This benefit is not intended to be used in lieu of routine maintenance or needed repairs on your vehicle. The cost of repair parts or supplies and labour cost of installing, repairing, storing, removing or testing of your vehicle, equipment or parts, the mounting of snow tires or chains, the return of a repaired tire to the disabled vehicle, or the shoveling of sand or snow is excluded.
Trip Interruption Reimbursement
If your vehicle is disabled due to a collision more than 160 kilometres from your home, reimbursement consideration is available for a total of $600 (with coverage beginning on the day of the collision and continuing for 3 consecutive days at $200/day) for automobile rental, food and lodging made necessary by the conditions of the collision.
